AGBU Religious Studies Scholarship

Deadline: May 31

AGBU offers scholarships to graduate students of Armenian descent worldwide (excluding citizens of Armenia studying in Armenia) who are pursuing religious studies (theology, youth ministry). Applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs at seminaries or highly selective colleges/universities worldwide with a GPA of 3.0 and above as measured by the American grading system scale. Grants of up to $5,000 USD are awarded annually, and are available for a maximum of three (3) years toward seminary/college/university education expenses.

AGBU offers various categories of scholarships depending on location and field of study. Only students of Armenian descent who are enrolled in full-time degree programs for the entire academic year are eligible to apply.

Please note that AGBU Scholarship application deadlines will be strictly enforced. Applications submitted past these designated dates will not be accepted or considered. In order to submit an application, students must complete each section as instructed and upload all required documents. No exceptions will be made.

Applicants from Armenia

Applicants who are citizens of Armenia qualify for AGBU Scholarships for study outside of Armenia.  For the applicant’s security, it is advised that a major portion of tuition and other expenses has already been secured through personal means, foundations, governmental and state grants, and/or the academic institution they are attending.  We impose this rule to ensure that there is a good chance the student will actually be able to study abroad. Please note, scholarships are not available to citizens of Armenia for local study in Armenia.
