Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s Academic Fellowship in American Modernism

Eligibility and Selection
Awards are made to (a) doctoral candidates who have fulfilled all preliminary requirements for the Ph.D. and whose work is under the direction of a faculty member from their own institution, (b) scholars who hold a doctorate or comparable degree and/or experience, and (c) museum professionals.Applicants are expected to be able to communicate satisfactorily in English. A Selection Committee of scholars in relevant fields reviews applications. Stipends are awarded on the basis of the innovative quality of the proposed project, and the originality and intellectual rigor of the individual’s previous scholarly work. Applicants are notified in the spring of the scholarship year.Stipends are available for periods of three-to-twelve months, are not renewable, and cannot be extended. Recipients are expected to be in residence during the period of the award and to take part in the life of the Research Center.

Applications must consist of the following: a completed application form, a research proposal (limited to 1500 words), a curriculum vita (limited to 10 pages), a financial information form, and the contact information (names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses) of those from whom recommendations have been requested.
