The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America selects laywomen annually to receive the $1,000 Irene Drinkall Franke Scholarship to financially support their religious studies and professional preparation for Christian service occupations. To apply, female students must hold ELCA membership, be U.S. citizens, attend accredited universities, be at least 21 years old, have experienced a two-year or longer interruption in education, and submit a pastor reference form.
