The American Indian Graduate Center

Deadline: June 1

Each year, the AIGC fellowship program provides $1,200,000 in fellowships to over 400 Native American and Alaska Native graduate students.  Graduate fellowships are monetary awards made to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate or professional degree-seeking students, who meet all eligible criteria.  The United States Bureau of Indian Education federally funds the fellowship program.  The fellowship amount is typically between $1,000 and $5,000 per academic year (not including summer), and varies from year to year, depending on the availability of funds and unmet financial need.

Eligibility:

  • Pursuing a post baccalaureate graduate or professional degree as a full time student at an accredited institution in the U.S.
  • Able to demonstrate financial need.
  • An enrolled member of a federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native group, or provide documentation of descendency (possess one-fourth degree federally recognized Indian blood).

For applicants who submitted an AIGC Fellowship application by the deadline and need the Tribal Eligibility Certificate (TEC) and/or Financial Need Form (FNF). Please check the needed forms in their website: http://www.aigcs.org/scholarships/online-application-instructions/
