Roy and Kathryn Hickes Scholarship (Ohio Lutherans)—Springfield Foundation

* Lutherans of any age residing in southern Ohio or registered with the southern Ohio synod but enrolled in program/schools located outside of southern Ohio
* Members of the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield, Ohio, receive special consideration during the selection process.

The Roy and Kathryn Hickes Scholarship Fund of the Springfield Foundation was established to provide Lutherans with funds for religious education opportunities, including formal seminary education scholarships and opportunities for laypersons of all ages who want to learn more about matters that relate to their Christian faith and life.  The purpose of the fund is to assist students in their desire to study the Word of God in order to better prepare themselves for Christian Service.  All recipients in a Lay Program must register to attend a specific educational or fellowship program; submit a completed Hickes Scholarship Application by the award deadline date; supply the selection committee with a brief narrative describing how they have grown from their experience after they have concluded the program.  Formal M.Div, MA or Doctoral Education Program participants must submit a completed Hickes Scholarship Application by the award deadline date; be accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning; enroll and complete at least 3 credit hours each quarter or semester in the accredited institution of acceptance, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 during the period of enrollment.
